( PRWeb UK / PRWEB ) June 24, 2010 -- A recent study conducted by a respected UK insurance provider shows that new drivers license recipients in the UK lack sufficient road experience when receiving their licenses. The study indicates that parents are largely to blame for this lack of practice. Equipped with only 29.9 hours of experience, compared to the Driving Standards Agency’s recommended 45 hours plus an additional 22 hours of private practice, young British drivers are some way behind the curve.
Confidence is a major factor behind the wheel and one in ten young drivers admit to not being ready to drive alone upon obtaining their licenses. Shockingly, these young drivers believe they should not have passed their driving tests at all.
